So far everything i have come across in UCSB has not failed to amaze me, from the sheer depth of opportunities in Careers to the quantity of books in the Library. The career counseling service was a great way to inform me of all the opportunities i had through my Financial Mathematics major. One of which that caught my eye was internships at Commerce Capital Group (Investment banking) which could be obtained even in Sophomore year. There are also finance opportunities in Intel and Apple which sound like an awesome way to boost your resume and still enjoy your summer. The librarian's lecture was an interesting lecture which managed to give me a good idea of what life is like as a librarian , the various qualifications required to become a librarian and even touched on the social interpretations of a librarian. The thing i liked about the lecture the most is the fact that they enlightened me for FREE MASSAGES EVERY TUESDAY! That was an awesome announcement to make at an int95 lecture keep it up! Well for one i learned i must if any thing cite my pages because "its a really good habit to get into" .

Majors and Minors Fair
The education abroad program in my opinion is awesome simply because that I think could be very useful for my life by diversifying my knowledge of different places cultures and ideals across the globe including like Japan, China and Brazil. I would like to learn about East Asian languages because of its various applications across the extremely interesting and they have a lot of intriguing foods which look mouth watering to eat even then visual appearance is appealing. Not only does one get to learn the language and experience the cuisine but you also get to be taught within the country and experience the education system which I thought would be a great way to broaden my knowledge of the world.
As a financial mathematics major having the opportunity to speak to the math department was very eye opening in terms of the doors opened to you as a statistical and technical subject. Government jobs and financial jobs are all plausible options once one studies mathematics.
Lastly the economics department, which my own major works closely with was equally enlightening. There is an eclectic mix of subjects studied within economics. from management to accounting and finance.
